Following King Charles's statement this morning condemning "the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel," Kate Middleton and Prince William's spokesperson has shared a message regarding the Prince and Princess of Wales's feelings on the recent terrorism in Israel.

"The Prince and Princess of Wales are profoundly distressed by the devastating events that have unfolded in the past days," a spokesperson for the royal couple shared this afternoon. "The horrors inflicted by Hamas's terrorist attack upon Israel are appalling; they utterly condemn them."

The spokesperson continued, "As Israel exercises its right of self defence, all Israelis and Palestinians will continue to be stalked by grief, fear and anger in the time to come. Their Royal Highnesses hold all the victims, their families and their friends in their hearts and minds. Those The Prince of Wales met in 2018 overwhelmingly shared a common hope - that of a better future." The statement concluded: "In the midst of such terrible suffering, The Prince and Princess continue to share that hope without reservation."

In 2018, Prince William traveled to Israel, becoming the first senior member of the British royal family to make an official visit to the country. While there, he visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, and prayed at the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City. He also played soccer with Palestinian youth in Ramallah.

Two years later, King Charles (then Prince Charles) made an official visit to Israel. This afternoon, Buckingham Palace shared that Charles spoke to Israel's President Herzog and Jordan's King Abdullah regarding the crisis.
