Kate Middleton and Prince William took a little personal time after their joint event this Tuesday, according to Hello!. The couple, who were in Cumbria for the day, went and got tea at a romantic, scenic spot: the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater. That venue is popular for weddings and was ecstatic about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stopping by.

"We had two VERY special guests stop by today! 😱🤩" the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater wrote on its Instagram. "Our Sales Manager Teresa and Dani, one of our Hotel Directors both had the pleasure of meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! Oh and some small guests came along too ☺️"

The hotel shared several photos from the Duke and Duchess's visit in its Instagram:

A spokesperson for the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater told Hello! that the couple came for tea. "It was quite a short break," the rep said. "They came and had afternoon tea with us at the Inn on the Lake."

Kate and William had tea in one of the luxury Lake View bedrooms at the hotel, with views across Lake Ullswater, Hello! noted. William thought the view was fantastic, according to the spokesperson, and mentioned he and Kate hoped they would be able to stay longer next time.

Hello! got details on the tea menu: apparently, it includes, a "selection of the following freshly prepared finger sandwiches: honey and orange roasted gammon & Hawkshead piccalilli, Appleby Creamery cheddar cheese & sweet pickle, egg & chive mayonnaise, cucumber & crème fraîche with black pepper," along with a "homemade savory treat, homemade plain and fruit scone with butter, jam & clotted cream, homemade patisseries, macaroon and traditional mini trifle." Very lavish and very British!

News of the date comes shortly after Us Weekly reported that following affair rumors, Kate and William have been working on their relationship. [They] are doing a great job at getting their marriage back on track again," a source said. “It’s not unusual to have a few hiccups in a marriage, especially after eight years, and Kate and William are no different. They’re still going strong. Regardless of their ups and downs, they love each other dearly and their kids are the most important thing in their lives.”
