How Kate Middleton and Prince William Declined Their Invite to Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s Wedding
Kate Middleton and Prince William were allegedly among the many celebrity guests invited to David and Victoria Beckham’s son Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding to heiress Nicola Peltz last weekend, and the British royals graciously declined, according to the Daily Mirror. A source told the British outlet, “David and Victoria wrote to William and Kate inviting them and the family to their son’s wedding, and William replied wishing them a great deal of joy but they are unable to attend.”
That source noted that rumors of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also being invited to the wedding had nothing to do with their decision. “David’s attachment and history go back with William and Kate, and they have a very strong relationship,” the source said. In reality, security ended up being a factor keeping them from attending. The wedding would have required Kate and William to travel to the U.S. from the UK too, marking their first trip to the States in years.
David and Victoria attended the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 2011 wedding.
Ultimately, Brooklyn’s wedding still attracted major A-listers, including Serena and Venus Williams, Eva Longoria, Eva Chen, and Gordon Ramsay. Brooklyn and Nicola debuted the first photos from their nuptials on their Instagrams. Brooklyn wore a Dior suit, while Nicola was outfitted in a Valentino couture wedding gown.
The couple changed their Instagram names to be Nicola Peltz Beckham and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, indicating they both took the other’s last name.
