Kate Middleton and Prince William Celebrate Meghan Markle’s Birthday on Instagram

• The royal family hit up Instagram to wish Meghan Markle a happy birthday on August 4.

• Meghan and Harry are said to be in touch with the royals, although conversations with Prince William are “stilted and difficult.”

Meghan Markle’s birthday is today (August 4), and while she and Prince Harry aren’t celebrating on Instagram due to disabling their @SussexRoyal account—the rest of the royal fam 100 percent is. And amid ongoing “royal feud” drama, no less!

Kate Middleton and Prince William started off the celebrations, sending Meghan happy birthday vibes with a sweet, simple caption (“Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today! 🎂🎈”) and a gorgeous photo:

Meanwhile, the Queen’s official account posted a photo of Her Majesty with Meghan at a royal engagement, along with the caption, “🎂🎈Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!”

Damn, the royals simply love the cake and balloon emoji!

And yes, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla also dropped some birthday wishes to Duchess Meghan, writing, “Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!” with, you guessed it, a red balloon.

These birthday Instagrams come amid reports of tension in the royal family due to the publication of Finding Freedom, a new biography about Meghan and Harry’s relationship that goes into the circumstances of them stepping down from royal duties. The book also makes it clear that William and Kate were less than supportive of Harry’s relationship with Meghan and claims William said his brother was “blindsided by lust,” while Kate didn’t make a huge effort to bridge the divide between herself and her sister-in-law. The brothers are said to be having “stilted and difficult” conversations right now, but hey, at least everyone’s on speaking terms.
