  • Order of the Garter 2019 is taking place at Windsor Castle on June 17.

  • Described on the royal family's website as "the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain," the annual event celebrates new inductees.

  • As in 2018, Prince William, Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Charles were among the British royal family members in attendance. And joining them for 2019 was Kate Middleton.

The Order of the Garter takes place every year, and recognizes the achievements of "Knights, now both male and female... chosen from a variety of backgrounds, in recognition for their public service," per the royal family's website.

Both King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and King Felipe VI of Spain were invested by the queen at this year's ceremony, with both being made Stranger Knights of the Garter.

Queen Elizabeth hosted a lunch following the official service, which was followed in the afternoon by a procession through the grounds of Windsor Castle. And while Kate Middleton was noticeably absent from the event in 2018, she put in a stunning appearance at this year's event, wearing a Catherine Walker look, which she accessorized with a Lock & Co. hat and a black clutch:

Also attending the occasion were a number of British royal family members. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex:
