Kate Middleton Pays Tribute To Queen With Her Majesty's Rarely Seen Pearl Brooch

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Cambridge has joined Camilla, Queen Consort, in the procession of the Queen's coffin to Westminster Hall.

On Wednesday afternoon, the mother-of-three was seen being driven in a black car with her in-law wearing an all-black ensemble, adhering to the royal mourning protocol, which consisted of a black ebony coat dress and a brooch which honoured the Queen's legacy in fashion and her memory as the second-longest reigning monarch.

The pearl leaf brooch in question is made up of three pearls sitting inside three leaves. The Queen is believed to have worn the beautiful piece of jewellery during her visit to South Korea in 1999, per HELLO!.

The Princess of Wales also wore a pair of drop pearl earrings previously owned by the late Princess Diana.

The last time the royal paired the earrings and brooch together was at the Passchendaele Commemorations in 2017.

In recent days several members of the royal family have paid tribute to the Queen with their choice of attire.

For example, Camilla accessorised her mourning outfit on Monday, September 12 with a diamond thistle brooch - Scotland's national flower - which honoured the place where the Queen spent her final days and was believed to have held in high esteem.

It's believed the brooch previously belonged to the Queen Mother, who was photographed wearing the design in the 1940s.

The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery marked Queen Elizabeth II’s final departure from Buckingham Palace with guns sounding at one-minute intervals while her coffin traveled to Westminster Hall, where it will Lie-in-State.

Big Ben also tolled at one-minute intervals during the procession, which was followed by King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips.

On arrival at Westminster Hall the Queen was placed on a catafalque with her crown, orb and sceptre placed on top. It's there where she will lie for four days and five nights until her state funeral at Monday at Westminster Abbey.
