The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out for a surprise appearance at Paddington Station to meet the cast and crew from upcoming film Paddington 2.

During the visit, Kate, who recently announced she and the Duke of Cambridge are expecting their third child, displayed a new haircut.

Her classic brown curls were much shorter than they were six days ago, when she hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace.

It also has a contrasting black velvet neckline and detachable bow belt.

During the visit, Kate, who was joined by her husband William and brother-in-law Prince Harry, got to meet the iconic Paddington Bear.

The furry bear gave the Duchess a kiss on the hand, before having a little dance.

The Royal trio then boarded a train to meet young passengers who had been nominated by Their Royal Highnesses' Charities Forum.

Publishing pictures on its official Twitter account, Kensington Palace said, "Many of the children on today's journey are going through difficult times in their lives."

The appearance marked Kate's second appearance since announcing that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be getting a new sibling.

Kensington Palace published the news earlier than expected after Kate suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a condition that causes extreme morning sickness.
