Kate Middleton Made One Tweak to Her Morning Outfit for Her Visit to the Foundling Museum
Kate Middleton is wrapping up a particularly significant day of work. The Duchess of Cambridge had two engagements this afternoon in London, including one with the Queen herself. They opened Bush House at King's College London. Kate wore a grey Catherine Walker dress there with a black fascinator:
Kate's last joint engagements with the Queen was seven years ago, in March 2012 when they visited Leicester.
But Kate's second event today is solo. The Duchess of Cambridge just arrived at the Foundling Museum, where she'll "understand how they use art to make a positive contribution to society by engaging with vulnerable and marginalized young people," the Palace shared. Kate was announced as patron of the museum earlier today, so this is her first official visit in that role. And while she wore the same Catherine Walker dress from earlier, she did tweak her outfit in one way to make it slightly more casual: She got rid of her black fascinator.
Kate, during her visit, "will meet trainees and graduates of the Foundling Museum’s ‘Tracing our Tales’ program, which has been developed to equip care-experienced young adults with the skills to devise and deliver workshops at the Museum," the Palace revealed ahead of her arrival.
Kate has been out quite a bit in the last week, where she's worn all types of attire for her assortment of engagements. She got to dress casually during her visit to the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre. There, she was in a lavender Gucci bow blouse and black Jigsaw trousers.
She dressed up hours later for her more formal event of the last week: the NPG Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery. Kate wore a black floral Alexander McQueen dress with her hair down at that event.
Kate dressed more traditionally for two holiday events. The first was her appearance with the family at Westminster Abbey's Commonwealth Day service, where she wore a red Catherine Walker coat dress and matching fascinator. Her second was just Sunday at the 1st Battalion Irish Guards St Patrick's Day Parade. There, the Duchess wore a festive custom Alexander McQueen coat dress.
