Kate Middleton Looks Stunning in a Sheer Lace Alexander McQueen Gown

From Harper's BAZAAR

We're always envious of Kate Middleton's impeccable style, and this evening was no exception.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out at The London Palladium for this year's Royal Variety Performance this evening, an annual fundraising event to benefit the Royal Variety Charity. The very first Royal Variety Performance happened way back in 1912, and it's now broadcast to a worldwide audience.

Duchess Kate looked incredible in a black long-sleeve gown with a sheer, lacy design layered over nude fabric. The figure-hugging number featured a sweetheart neckline and a thin black belt accenting the waist. She wore dangling pearl earrings, reportedly from Erdem, along with a black clutch and pumps.

Inside, the Duke and Duchess met with well-wishers and performers, including the cast of Mary Poppins.

This isn't the first time that Kate and William have coupled up for the Royal Variety Performance. In 2017, Kate opted for a glitzy Jenny Packham gown. Her gorgeous dress was embellished with sparkly sequins on a sheer layer of tulle, which covered an ice blue satin gown. She accessorized her outfit with a pair of Oscar de la Renta's Carina pumps, and a glittering Jenny Packham clutch, per the Kate Middleton Style blog.

And in 2014, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a stunning black lace gown by Diane von Furstenberg.

And just last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the iconic event in the place of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. For the occasion, Meghan wore a black halter look by Safiyaa featuring a striking floral print sequined top, which she paired with a long black skirt.
