Kate Middleton Looked Summery in a Blue and White Outfit at Wimbledon
Last year, one of the many events canceled by the pandemic was Wimbledon, the prestigious tennis tournament. Tennis fans around the world have awaited the event's return, and few more so than the Duchess of Cambridge—one of the royal family's biggest tennis enthusiasts. The Duchess is not only royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which hosts Wimbledon every year, but is also well known for her emotive expressions, captured as she watched matches in years past. Kate is certainly never afraid to showcase her joy or disappointment at an excellent serve or missed shot. This weekend, the Duchess of Cambridge returned to her beloved Wimbledon, and did so in style.
During her visit today, Kate not only attended a match, enjoying the competition alongside the Duke of Kent, but she also toured the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and spent time with Executive Chef Adam Fargin in the kitchens on the Wimbledon Grounds. She and Fargin spoke about how over the past year, the kitchen has been used to distribute hot meals to the community during the COVID-19 crisis.
For today's events, Kate wore a blue and white polka dot skirt, which she paired with a white top and navy blue blazer. She accessorized the look with layered necklaces, sunglasses, and simple gold and pearl earrings.
Though last year's event was canceled, the Duchess was still able to share her love for the tournament. She narrated a video posted on Wimbledon's social media channels, reminiscing on the events of years past and thanking fans for their support.
She said, "We will bide our time until we sit on the edge of our seats again, and celebrate again, so when the time is right and we open the gates, we will be back again and it will have been worth the wait."
