The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Belize on Saturday, beginning their week-long tour of the Caribbean. Kate Middleton stepped off the plane wearing a blue lace Jenny Packham skirt suit. The jacket's peplum silhouette emphasized her narrow waist, along with the form fitting pencil skirt. The lace edges of the suit fluttered in the wind as they stood for a formal salute at the Belize airport.

Kate carried a matching blue clutch and her pointed blue heels were in the same rich shade. She wore her long brunette locks half up and a few pieces of simple jewelry, including diamond and sapphire cluster earrings and a matching pendent on a gold train.

The Cambridges are representing Queen Elizabeth, marking the monarch's Platinum Jubilee year. They'll be visiting the Bahamas and Jamaica during their tour. They were greeted upon their arrival by Governor-General of Belize, Froyla Tzalam and her husband Daniel Mendez. They then met with the Prime Minister of Belize, Juan Antonio Briceño. Not everyone has been happy to see them, People reports. Protestors against colonialism in the Maya Mountains forced a change to a scheduled visit to a cocoa farm on Sunday. There was also a dispute over the planned use of a local football field for the royals' helicopter to land. A source confirmed the visit had been canceled over “sensitive issues.”

The couple will be visiting one of Prince William's Earthshot Prize winners, Coral Vita, on Grand Bahama Island while in town. The awardees work on restoring and preserving coral reefs. Kate will be visiting Shortwood Teacher's College in Jamaica, a university that conducts research and trains early childhood education practitioners, a cause important to her and connected to Kate's work for the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
