Duchess Kate has freshened up her signature look for the New Year.

In a new video shared to the Kensington Palace social media channels, the Duchess of Cambridge is seen wearing a white and silky collared blouse layered with a fitted black blazer. Instead of styling her hair in her usual bouncy waves, though, Kate opts for sleek, shiny strands and a side part.

Kate's latest virtual appearance is a sentimental one. Meeting with British frontline nurses tirelessly working to combat the ongoing COVID-19 crisis affecting the U.K. and the rest of the globe, the duchess takes the opportunity to highlight the ways nurses are going the extra mile to care for ill coronavirus patients.

"You hear time and time again about the amazing things nurses up and down the country are doing—going that extra mile," says the duchess during the conversation. "It's the things that are not part of the training … but the things that come from your heart, and I think that's what matters so much now: these acts of kindness to the patients you're looking after."

Kate spoke with nurses who work within a variety of roles at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The duchess is also a patron of the Nursing Now campaign, per People, and has made it a point to regularly check in with frontline workers and how they're faring amid the pandemic, as has her husband, Prince William.

"These acts of courage, strength and kindness matter so much right now," read the caption from the duchess alongside the video clip, "and we owe you a huge thank you for all that you have done and continue to do throughout these difficult times."
