It’s official: Kate Middleton has left the building Windsor Castle.

According to The Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales, 42, has departed Adelaide Cottage for the first time since undergoing a previously unannounced abdominal surgery. In the meantime, Princess Catherine will stay at Anmer Hall, which is the Norfolk home she shares with Prince William, 41.

She was accompanied by her husband (duh) and their three kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. The children likely inspired the trip, since they are on a half-term break from school.

“Catherine is recovering well,” a source told The Daily Mail. “She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William.”

Anmer Hall is part of the royal family’s Sandringham Estate, which is where King Charles is currently staying. The Wales family will be able to spend more time with the 75-year-old monarch, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Earlier this month, Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing that King Charles is undergoing treatment to address the health issue that was identified during his recent hospitalization.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the statement read. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

A staycation in Sandringham for Catherine is exactly what the doctor ordered.
