Catherine, Princess of Wales, best known as Kate Middleton, arrived in Arnos Grove, north London, on Tuesday, taking a utilitarian approach to fall style.

The Princess of Wales visited Arnos Grove to meet with Dadvengers, a community for dads and their children. For her visit, Middleton wore a Barbour x Alexa Chung collaboration “Edith” waxed-cotton jacket in sand, a black and white stripe cashmere knit sweater from Erdem and mid-rise straight dark wash jeans from Mother Denim. She accessorized with gold mini cupid hoops from Daniella Draper and completed the look with brown leather Chelsea boots from Reiss.

During her visit, Middleton took part in a Dad Walk and highlighted the importance of dads in their children’s earliest years as part of her Shaping Us campaign centered on early childhood development. The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood launched Shaping Us in January, and Middleton has described it as her “life’s work.” The Princess of Wales is a longtime advocate for early childhood development.

Middleton had a chance to chat with the fathers involved in Dadvengers about the role fathers play in childhood development starting from even before the children are born up through their first few weeks of life. Dadvengers founder Nigel Clarke brought up the importance of equal paternity leave for mothers and fathers.

Dadvengers is a prominently online community allowing fathers to communicate with each other about the journeys of parenthood. Fathers will often connect to get together to do things as simple as walk their newborns.

Middleton’s elevated casual look is a contrast from the slate of power dressing ensembles she donned earlier in the fall. In September, she wore a blue, tailored Alexander McQueen suit to visit HM Prison High Down. That same month, she wore a camel Roland Mouret suit to visit Streets of Growth in London.
