From Town & Country

On day one of their visit to Ireland, William and Kate followed in the Queen's footsteps paying tribute to those who lost their lives for Irish freedom. And today the couple is focusing on the country's future, meeting with organizations that work with young people as well as learning about sustainable farming practices and environmental projects.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge started their day at the Dublin headquarters of the mental health charity Jigsaw. The charity provides a range of mental health services including one-on-one therapy sessions, community programs, research, online support, and a program in secondary schools.

Kate was dressed casually in black trousers and boots with a cream coat by Reiss for the engagement this morning. Before departing, the couple were shown Love Lane which has been filled with love letters to Dublin from writers in a concept created by street artist Anna Doran.

William and Kate have five engagements today across Dublin, County Kildare, and County Meath. Later today, they will see the work of the social justice charity Extern, which supports families going through challenging times and also stop at Teagasc Research Farm to hear about their pioneering research to promote sustainable farming across Ireland. The royal couple will also meet primary school children at the farm and learning about food production and nutrition.

Tonight the couple will attend a Dublin reception hosted by Tánaiste Simon Coveney where William will make a speech.
