Kate Middleton just stepped out in a *very* on theme outfit ahead of the Coronation

What we would give to raid Kate Middleton's wardrobe. The tiaras alone. Say what you want about fashion being frivolous, but when you are one of the most photographed women in the world it matters what you wear.

Obviously, if millions of people are going to see your outfit you want to look good. But the Princess of Wales has taken this one step further, wearing clothing imbued with hidden significance. Sure, she's always dressed in a chic 'fit that adheres to royal protocol, but once you take notice of the event or occasion she's attending, you can't help but notice her lewks are always very thematic.

And the red button-front collarless coat layered over a white dress that she stepped out in this afternoon feels like a *very* intentional choice of colour palette ahead of the coronation of King Charles III this weekend.

On Wednesday afternoon, Kate and her husband Prince William were on an official Royal visit in central London. Stopping first at the Dog & Duck Pub on Tottenham Court Road, the couple have planned to visit various hospitality and recreation businesses in the Soho area to meet representatives and members of staff and hear how the establishments are preparing for the coronation weekend.

For the outing, Kate opted for a patriotic red and white ensemble re-wearing her Eponine London coat from the brand's AW2018 collection. She teamed it with a white Suzannah dress, another repeat item she previously wore to Wimbledon, and added a matching white Mulberry bag and court shoes in the same pristine white.

If there’s a way to link her look to an occasion, Kate will do it. Just take her head-to-toe emerald green 'fit complete with shamrock broach that she wore to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland last year. Or the blue tartan Holland Cooper coat she wore on a trip to Scotland in May 2021.

We can't wait to see what she wears for the actual coronation on Saturday.
