Kate Middleton Just Shared a Behind-The-Scenes Look at Prince Louis's Birthday Shoot

Kate Middleton just reminded us that not everything you see on Instagram is exactly how things are in real life.

After shooting some positively precious new snaps of Prince Louis during his second birthday on Wednesday (April 22), Kate Middleton shared a couple more images of what really happened behind the scenes of his heartwarming "rainbow hands" mini shoot.

" Instagram vs Reality," the official Kensington Royal account captioned two images of little Louis. One was a proper photo of the munchkin holding up his hands, covered in rainbow paint, and another with him smearing the paint all over his face and mouth, because let's not forget – he's still a toddler, after all.

"Thank you for all your lovely messages on Prince Louis’ second birthday!" the caption continued. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share new photographs of Prince Louis, taken by The Duchess this April."

Prince William's cousin Princess Eugenie stopped by the account to leave a sweet comment of her own, identifying with the hilarious snap of Prince Louis.

"Every toddler parent knows this feeling! Happy birthday sweet Louis! Haha so glad you posted these. I was wondering how he stayed so clean. These are just gorgeous," she wrote.

For Prince Louis's birthday, the toddler spent some time working on a series of rainbow paintings in an effort to support the National Health Service and the workers fighting the novel coronavirus on the front lines. He created some absolutely adorable paintings while spending his birthday at home with parents Kate and Prince William and siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

So if you were wondering how Louis stayed so clean and proper during that shoot – well, now you know. Toddlers are still going to be toddlers, even if they're princes!
