Yes, we adore Meghan Markle. The baby bump! Her rule-breaking nail color! Her impeccable style! But the Duchess of Cambridge has proven herself a style and beauty icon time and time again since joining the royal family nearly eight years ago—and she just unveiled her latest photogenic trick that we *couldn't* not share.

Introducing: The Hair Tuck. On Tuesday during a visit to Evelina Children's Hospital in London, the Duchess of Cambridge posed for a photo op with a bouquet handed to her by one of the young patients. The duchess expertly tucked one side of her hair behind her ear before the cameras went off—and the pictures turned out lovely. But why does the handy little tip work?

Turns out, being able to show part of your jawline in pics actually makes your face appear slimmer, since it gives more definition to your profile. Instead of having her hair's bouncy blowout and jaw-skimming layers cover up the sides of her chin, Middleton did what any professional celeb does: She tucked half her hair behind one ear and angled her chin down to soften any unflattering shadows and make her facial profile more pronounced. 

And here we thought it was all about what we do with our hands a là the Duchess of Cornwall.
