Kate Middleton may be bringing an unconventional outfit back to Kensington Palace. Last year, the Duchess of Cambridge conducted a number of conversations with finalists from her "Hold Still" photo competition to find out more about them and their images. One recently released conversation focuses on a photo chosen for Kate's Hold Still book and pertains to a certain beloved superhero.

The photo's backstory involves friends Jason Baird and Andrew Baldock who, at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown in the UK, took to the streets dressed like Spider-Man. The selected photo shows Baird, a martial arts teacher, doing a backflip in costume as delighted children observe from inside a house.

The Duchess spoke to Baird on the phone, thanking him for his submission. "Thank you for sending in your photograph because there are some really emotive and really sad images and stories that we had," Kate said. "But this brought, you know, particularly to the judging panel, it was such a wonderful, positive image of community spirit. It was amazingly captured."

"When we heard the news that we were only allowed for an hour a day, exercise and activities whether it was a walk or a run, it was more a case of we wanted to try and cheer the kids up," Baird replied. He also noted that children would eventually wait for him with signs and dressed up as Spider-Man themselves.

This notion gave Kate her own particular idea. The Duchess said Baird's sweet activity was "very cool" and teased that she may have to purchase a suit for Prince William—a prospect Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis would surely enjoy.

"I'll see if it takes on the trend to Kensington Palace. I might have to buy William a suit," she said, laughing. "Unfortunately, I'm not so sure he's going to get the air clearance that you've got!"
