Kate Middleton’s Joke About Wearing Combat Boots Instead of Heels Is All of Us

Kate Middleton just proved that there’s no harm in choosing comfort over style.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 37, recently visited the U.K. Scout Association headquarters at Gilwell Park in London, where she opted against her usual high heels and wore a functional pair of combat boots.

When Middleton planted a sapling in honor of the park’s 100th anniversary, she joked that she made the right choice of footwear. “Normally I have to do this in high heels, this is much easier!” she said, according to People.

The duchess accessorized her See by Chloé combat boots with a burgundy mock-neck sweater and slim, black pants. She completed the look with a red, blue and white striped scarf tied loosely around her neck, which just so happens to be a traditional part of the scouting uniform.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Middleton wear combat boots. Back in January, the duchess rocked the shoes when she visited King Henry’s Walk Community Garden in Islington, England.

When in doubt, keep it casual.
