Kate Middleton’s new honey brown hair might be our favorite hue for fall

September 5th, 2019 was a big day for little royals Prince George and Princess Charlotte. It was their first day of school—and the first-ever day of school for Charlotte. And while of course the kiddos looked so cute, and Charlotte always seems to slay in front of the cameras, our eyes soon focused on their mama. Kate Middleton dropped her two eldest kids off at Thomas’s Battersea sporting a much blonder look, and she stole the show.

While we’ve always been envious of Middleton’s pitch-perfect blowout (seriously, please share your hot tools, Kate), now we’re ready to steal her honey brown hair shade for our fall cut and color. The color is so much lighter and brighter, it teeters on dark blonde rather than her signature chestnut brunette. She was positively glowing gold, and we don’t think it was the British overcast.

Just look at this color in bouncy-blowout action on the Kensington Royal Instagram account:

It looks like more than just honey blonde highlights; this is a more all-over, lighter color, as if maybe her royal stylist went heavy with gold balayage. And we love that the Duchess of Cambridge bucked tradition and went lighter for fall, when golden-brown is more commonly a beachy, summery choice. We’re canceling our lowlights appointment because we love it so much.

We’re not the only ones in love with blonder Kate Middleton. On a Twitter post celebrating Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s first day at school, some people were more mesmerized by the duchess’s hair.

Basically, Middleton’s honey brown blowout is tacked right to the center of our fall 2019 vision board. You?
