Yesterday, the royal family gathered together in Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Christmas lunch, which, tragically, none of us were invited to. However, the world did have the distinct pleasure of seeing Kate Middleton and Prince William roll up to the event with their kids (shoutout to Prince Louis), and we also got to see them leave.

While the family were only photographed in their car, Kate was clearly dressed in her festive best—wearing a tartan dress paired with statement pearl earrings. But here's the thing. Royal ~watchers~ noticed that Kate seemingly ditched her earrings at some point during the day and drove away without them, which is honestly the most relatable move ever.
