Kate Middleton Chooses Alexander McQueen for the Royal Wedding
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, went with a familiar name, Alexander McQueen, for today’s big occasion.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was married to Prince William just seven years ago at Westminster Abbey, and today she welcomed another member into “the Firm” by sporting a bespoke piece by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen yet again. Royal watchers will recall that Middleton also selected a McQueen piece for sister Pippa Middleton’s wedding last year, and today’s dress was equal parts regal, subdued, and sophisticated.
The cream suit was in line with Middleton’s style and recalled the many tailored styles she's sported for state occasions over the years. And while there were elements of the dress silhouette she wore to sister Pippa's wedding—the slightly puffed sleeves—it was a quiet and demure moment for the Duchess. A coordinated fascinator finished the look with regal polish.
