Kate Middleton Chooses Alexander McQueen (Again) for the RAF Centennial Celebrations
Kate Middleton is having a busy summer. While the Duchess of Sussex (née Meghan Markle) might be hopping on trains with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, checking out husband Prince Harry’s polo matches alongside Serena Williams, and taking in her first Royal Ascot, Middleton has been equally (if not more) occupied at Kensington Palace with a newborn. Yesterday saw the mother of three christen her youngest, Prince Louis, in a bespoke Alexander McQueen coatdress, and today for the RAF centenary at Westminster Abbey, she again relied upon house designer Sarah Burton, but with a directional twist.
While previous occasions—the Royal Wedding, Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s christenings—have seen Middleton don varying hues of cream and white, today she embraced ice blue. The soft color was ideal for the Duchess, who accessorized with a tonally coordinated box clutch and fascinator by Sean Barrett. She added a Royal Air Force Dacre brooch comprised of gold, diamonds, and rubies, which was bestowed on her by the RAF upon her appointment as an honorary air commandant.
Neutral tone stilettos grounded the ensemble and drop earrings finished the look.
