Kate Middleton Arrives in All Red to Host Her First Holiday Concert

Kate Middleton is ready to spread some holiday cheer.
On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Westminster Abbey to host her first televised holiday community carol service, which honors those who "have stepped up to support their communities through the pandemic," as Kensington Palace previously described it. The event, supported by The Royal Foundation, will feature musical performances by Westminster Abbey's world-renowned choir, as well as readings and musical performances from a variety of guests meant encompass people of all faiths.
For the occasion, Duchess Kate wore a bright-red coat dress by Catherine Walker with a dramatic bow-tie feature around the collar and with buttons going down the front. She accessorized the look with red pumps by Gianvito Rossi and a red clutch, as well as a pair of dangle earrings that match her sapphire engagement ring.
Prince William joined the duchess for the service, color coordinating with a red tie.
Duchess Kate's family—her mom Carole Middleton, her brother James Middleton, and his wife, financial analyst Alizée Thevenet—also appeared at Westminster Abbey to support the event.
Guests of Royal Carols: Together At Christmas will include people involved with grassroots initiatives and charity work, as well as teachers, emergency responders, and armed forces personnel. Community members who are especially vulnerable to COVID-19, and have thus spent more time isolated over the past two years, have also been invited to attend.
A photo posted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Instagram account showed a sneak peek of the festivities.
"We will be reflecting on the extraordinary challenges we have faced in recent times and celebrating the acts of kindness that we have witnessed across the nation as communities pulled together to help each other and protect those in need," the caption reads.
