Kate Middleton Is in the 'Early Stages' of Labor

Kate Middleton is about to give birth to her third child with Prince William, Kensington Palace just announced via Twitter.

It's a beautiful morning—a beautiful morning for a royal baby, specifically. That's right: Kate Middleton is officially in labor! Kensington Palace announced on Twitter early this morning (April 23) that the Duchess of Cambridge is at the hospital to give birth to her third child with husband Prince William.

"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labour," the statement says. "The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge."

This was followed by a photo of the photographers and reporters who had gathered outside St. Mary's Hospital—the same place where she gave birth to Princess Charlotte and Prince George—for the first glimpse of the new addition to the royal family. "The world’s media are gathered outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital ahead of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child," Kensington Palace wrote in the caption.

It's a busy time for the royal family, given Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is just around the corner on May 19. Lucky for Kate, she'll reportedly have the night off from bridesmaid duties so she can focus on the baby and having fun. "Frankly, Harry and Meghan are just happy that Kate will be there given she will only just have given birth,” a source told Vanity Fair. “They have told her there is no pressure on her to do anything, they just want her to enjoy the day.”

Stay tuned: We'll keep you posted when the royal baby arrives.
