Kate McKinnon Brought a New Level of Weird on SNL

The hypersexual, 85-year-old Lucille is some new, peak McKinnon.

First of all, yes, Kate McKinnon is probably the most consistently funny on SNL, and she's usually the standout even in bad sketches and especially in great ones. She also has a knack though for making just the most bizarre characters imaginable, giving you what feels like a tiny peek at someone with a long, weird, and very detailed backstory.

And so it was on Saturday when McKinnon donned the old lady prostheses to become the 85-year-old Lucille, celebrating her birthday with coworkers during a meeting in the office kitchen. She also manically, unrelentingly, wants her to see her office-mates kiss. She says this with such a gentle, barely aspirated voice that it's not even clear that the word she's insistingly repeating over and over is even "kiss," but then her simple, and somehow still very sexual, gestures make that clear. And if it's not clear enough, she busts out a clipboard to give the directions she wants:

Take notes, yeah. Him and her. Him and him. That girl, that girl, cup and kiss. Threeway here, I'm underneath looking up. Chappy chaps and pillow mouth. Him, lying on the table, kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss. Three turns all around. And, yeah, one Spider-man.

This is some new kind of peak weirdness for McKinnon, but more power to her for bringing attention to hypersexual seniors.
