Today, the royal family is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force with a host of events in honor of the occasion.

The royals kicked off the day with a service at Westminster Abbey, where the Queen was joined by Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Kate, who looked stunning in a pale blue Alexander McQueen dress with a sizable statement brooch, made a surprise appearance at the event, which fell during her maternity leave

Photos from inside Westminster Abbey show the royals meeting Royal Air Force personnel just before the service began:

Shortly after, Will and Kate shared a sweet moment of laughter while sitting inside the Abbey during the church service. Prince William started laughing first, and then Kate turned to him and caught him mid-laugh. It appears that William then explained what happened to Kate, and she sweetly smiles as well. Watch the entire moment take place in the video below:

Shortly after the service ended, the royals left Westminster Abbey for Buckingham Palace, where they watched a flypast from the balcony.

It's been a busy week already for Will, Kate, and the rest of the royal family. Yesterday, the royal couple celebrate Prince Louis's christening, and made their first appearance as a family of five with Prince George and Princess Charlotte:
