Kate Hudson’s favorite exercise tones abs in under 1 minute

It’s no secret that Kate Hudson likes to stay healthy and active. The actress is the co-founder of the activewear company Fabletics. She’s also the newest global ambassador of WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers).

Hudson credits her mom, Goldie Hawn, with influencing her desire to stay in shape. “My mom is very much into her own health and wellness, and she’s very active,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I grew up watching that — that’s a foundation for me that is just there.”

After having a baby in October, the mom of three made a New Year’s resolution to get into better shape and live a healthier life in 2019. While Hudson enjoys a variety of workouts, from Pilates to dancing, she always makes sure she’s working her abs. “Everything to me is centered in the core,” the 39-year-old says.

Hudson’s go-to core move? Bicycle abs.

Here’s how to do them:

Lie on a mat. Make sure your lower back is pressed into the floor. Place your hands behind your head, supporting your neck off the ground. Tighten your abs. Bend your left knee and bring it toward your chest as you simultaneously twist, bringing your right elbow toward your knee. Then switch, bending your right knee and twisting your left elbow toward that knee. Alternate from side to side.

This move works several ab muscles at once, which is why it’s a favorite of Hudson’s. “You’re just constantly engaged,” she says. “You get your obliques — you get your center [abs], your uppers and lowers. You have to make sure that you’re really tucked in and not hurting your back.”

Hudson adds, “If you did that every day, your abs would be sick.”
