Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa’s Love Story Will Make You Believe in Romance

A year after things first turned romantic with boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, Kate Hudson is finally dishing on the origins of their love story.

As the Almost Famous actress rang in the one-year anniversary of their very first date on Sunday, she took to Instagram to sweetly muse on how the couple originally met, revealing that their romance was a long time in the making.

“The first time I met Danny I was 23 and enormously pregnant with Ryder," the 38-year-old recalled. "His step sisters are my best friends @sarafoster @erinfoster and so it goes we have been in the same circle for over a decade!"

Sharing a sweet shot of the pair kissing during a sunny hiking expedition, she continued: “A year ago today Danny took me on a hike and what I thought was just a hike with a family friend turned very quickly into an unexpected first date.”

While Hudson was initially frustrated with Fujikawa's baby steps to romance, she can now appreciate the build-up. “No moves were made on this first date," the actress noted. "In fact, it took months for him to make a first move!"

“And as a kiss on this bridge would have been nice, the kiss a year later was so much sweeter,” she wrote of the singer-songwriter, who was first publicly seen packing on the PDA with the mom of two back in March. “So on our 15th year of knowing each other we were able to open our hearts to each other to feel so much pure love and it’s been truly incredible! Happy first date anniversary baby.”
