Kate Beckinsale Is 'Totally Broken' After a Devastating Loss

Kate Beckinsale is mourning a special member of her family: Her cat, Clive.

On June 12, the Underworld actress took to Instagram to announce that her beloved pet had passed away. He was 19 years old.

Alongside a photo of herself and Clive, the British actress wrote, "Clive has died. I don’t have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet. Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it."

As she continued, Beckinsale noted that she may be hard to reach as she grieves her late furry companion. She added, "My heart is absolutely and totally broken."

It didn't take long for Beckinsale's famous friends to express their condolences. Case in point: Actor Seth Rogen responded, "I’m so sorry."

Actress Anya Taylor-Joy chimed in, "Kate💔 sending you love ♥️." Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna noted, "Oh I’m so so sorry for your loss we loved you sharing Clive with us. Thank you ❤️."

Even Isla Fisher shared, "I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. He was such a special guy ❤️."

Fans of Beckinsale and Clive also sent their regards, with one fan poignantly expressing, "Your posts with your precious animals kept me sane during covid. Clive was a special soul and his magnificence healed a part of me. Pets are angels. 😇 He was a bright light. The world just became a bit darker without his brightness. My deepest condolences."

Beckinsale isn't the only celebrity to suffer a personal pet loss in recent months. For instance, in May, Kaley Cuoco revealed that her dog Dump Truck had passed away.

Pete Davidson also lost his family dog Henry last month, and later defended his decision to buy a new pup after being criticized by PETA.
