Kate Beckinsale just wore a literal mosquito net on the red carpet
A rare gem, Kate Beckinsale is one of those celebrities who you can tell runs her own Instagram account. Less curation, more of a stream of consciousness, Kate's space is a no-BS zone and that goes double for trolls.
Recently, she's faced intrusive assumptions about whether she's had plastic surgery or not and whether she should date men "her own age". In a word, rude.
Which makes her latest look even more of a triumph. Attending the 2023 Zodiac Ball in LA, Kate's choice can only be described as out there. Created by Tony Ward Couture, Kate's outfit is basically a mosquito net hat with a corresponding body suit and platform golden heels. It's a lot of look, for sure.
Let's dissect. First up, is the hat. A truly ginormous brim (similar to a beekeeper or apiarist hat), sits under a veil that cascades to the floor, the yards of fabric that pool around her feet. The veil itself is embroidered with tangles of green thread sewn on.
Beneath, Kate wears a golden, bandeau leotard that matches her super high, metallic gold platform heels.
A resident sheer dresser, this isn't the first, nor last, time Kate will nail the trend. Earlier this month, she wore a completely sheer dress with blue underwear and silver appliqués. The response was overwhelmingly positive, the comment section flooded with compliments on her dress and self.
