She said it was 'a cover with an image that does NOT represent me.'

Singer Karol G is voicing her disapproval over a recent GQ Mexico magazine cover photo that she claims is heavily photoshopped.

The Colombian artist took to Instagram to point out the misleading depiction of her face and body by the magazine, sharing a makeup-free selfie of herself in comparison to the cover shot.

“I don’t even know where to start this message,” the 32-year-old hitmaker began in the caption, translated from Spanish to English, adding, “Today my GQ magazine cover was made public, a cover with an image that does NOT represent me.”

“My face does not look like that, my body does not look like that, and I feel very happy and comfortable with how I look naturally,” she emphasized, making it very clear to her over 61 million followers that she does not approve of the edits that were made without her consent.

While Karol emphasized that she was honored to be on the cover, she was displeased with the changes made to the final image, noting that “despite making clear my disagreement over the number of edits that they did to the photo, they did nothing about it.”

She also suggested that the message that was being put out by the image was that “to look good” she “needed all those changes.”

And while she’s aware that speaking out publicly could come with “repercussions,” she felt it was necessary not only because it was “disrespectful to me,” but because it sent a terrible message to “the women who wake up every day looking to feel comfortable with ourselves, despite society’s stereotypes.”

Karol did not share the original photo prior to the alleged editing.

GQ Mexico has not responded to the claims, and the magazine cover image is nowhere to be found on their Instagram page or website.

Supportive comments poured into the comment section under Karol's post from fans and famous friends alike.

Prince Royce wrote in Spanish, “They went too far,” while Daniela Legarda added, “We love you. Thank you for representing natural beauty and speaking up about these things so many of us are afraid of.”

Meanwhile, Bebe Rexha chimed in stating, “So beautiful.”

Many fans of the “TQG” singer also explained that they “knew” she “didn’t look like that” and appreciated that she’s “standing up” for herself.

Karol G has been dominating the music charts as of late, with her latest album “Mañana Será Bonito” landing at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and making her the first woman at the top with an all-Spanish album.

She’s previously hit back at body shamers questioning why she posts unedited photos of herself, noting in an Instagram comment back in February, “Why try to make my body look different if that’s the way it is?”
