Karlie Kloss, newly engaged to Joshua Kushner-the younger brother of Ivanka Trump's husband Jared Kushner, senior adviser to President Trump-does not like talking about her relationship. She declined to discuss it recently when asked by the New York Times about it. (“My relationship has nothing to do with this interview,” she said.) But she was a little more generous with Vogue in its October cover story on her.

She offered a little detail on Josh's proposal: it was "romantic and sweet" during a weekend alone in upstate New York, confirming People's report on it. She hinted it hasn't been easy being with him-not because of him, but because of his family's proximity to the Trump circle and all that comes with it-stressing that she and Josh are LIBERAL and not about the President's agenda. “Josh and I share a lot of the same liberal values that guide our lives and the things we stand for,” she said. “We’ve really grown together personally and professionally [over our six years dating]. Josh knows that I’m just a nerdy, curious human being. I think that’s why he loves me. We have each other’s back.”

She would not confirm or deny rumors she is converting to orthodox Judaism for him the way Ivanka did before marrying his brother. “At the end of the day, I’ve had to make decisions based on my own moral compass-forget what the public says, forget social media,” she said of the relationship's strings generally. “I’ve chosen to be with the man I love despite the complications."

Then, because Karlie Kloss would rather talk about anything else, she added, "It’s frustrating, to be honest, that the spotlight is always shifted away from my career toward my relationship. I don’t think the same happens in conversations with men.” And all Josh talk stopped there.
