At only 10 years old, North West, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, is following in her father's footsteps, as she just announced that her debut album is in the works.

While at a listening party for West and Ty Dolla $ign's upcoming album, Vultures 2, North said to the cheering crowd, "I've been working on an album," before announcing the working title to be Elementary School Dropout, a likely callback to West's 2004 LP The College Dropout.

The response from fans was mixed, with quite a few people sharing their excitement about the project, especially loving how the title references West's past work.

"This is actually so hype 🥹 Imagine her next album is called Late attendance," wrote one fan, as someone else said, "The continuity between creative lineage is fire."

"Y’all already know Elementary School Dropout by North West is going to be full of BOPS!!" read another enthusiastic response.

But there were also a lot of people who questioned the announcement, such as a fan who shared a gif of a perplexed woman along with the message, "North West said her album is called 'Elementary School Dropout' …"

Other fans criticizing the announcement said things like, "I hope that's not literal," "please no can kim ground her already," and "I just feel like now isn’t the time for North to walk her father’s legacy. Her time is coming. Let her be a kid."

Similar comments questioned North's early entrance into the entertainment industry, noting that she should enjoy her childhood and will have plenty of opportunities to show off her creativity in the future. North has already performed with her father at his album listening parties and is featured on his album Vultures 1.

North is the oldest child of West and Kardashian, with three younger siblings, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. Along with her newly-announced music, North has also already ventured into the fashion world, which both her mother and father have been a big part of.
