Kaley Cuoco Wore $46 Worth of Drugstore Makeup for Her Wedding
Kaley Cuoco might make a cool $1 million per episode on The Big Bang Theory, but it hasn't fazed her love for drugstore makeup. She's such a fan of it, in fact, the actress wore a face full of it at her wedding over the weekend to professional equestrian Karl Cook.
To play off the design of her Reem Acra gown, she and her longtime makeup artist Jamie Greenberg went with simple, natural-looking makeup that didn't hide or cover her features—quite similar to another recent famous bride. (You might know of her? She married a prince?) “The Reem Acra dress speaks for itself,” Greenberg told People. “We wanted a natural true Kaley to shine through with this look.”
The first step to that was Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, which have appeared in many a pre-red carpet selfie. From there, Greenberg applied Cover FX foundation and subtle pink eyeshadow. Then came the drugstore products. For Cuoco's soft eye look, Greenberg used Burt’s Bees Nourishing Eyeliner Pencil in Soft Black ($8) and the brand's Nourishing Mascara ($10) on her top and bottom lashes. She finished with a little bit of wedding day falsie drama, courtesy of Ardell Studio Effects Demi Wispies ($5).
Greenberg then layered Cuoco's lip products in three steps: First Burt's Bees All-Weather SPF 15 Moisturizing Lip Balm ($4) to prep, then Burt's Bees Matte Lip Crayon in Sedona Sands ($9) to create a creamy nude base, and finally Burt’s Bees Liquid Lipstick in Niagara Nude ($10) for color and shine.
Her hair, meanwhile, also deserves a shoutout. Observe the work of hairstylist Christine Symond, who used Kerastase products to turn that formal messy bun into what she calls an "after party kind of pony." Mission accomplished.
All told, Cuoco used only $46 of drugstore makeup. So the next time someone tries to tell you that more expensive products are automatically better, direct them straight to these photos.
