The Bachelorette is blessing us with another hopefully-not-that-messy season in June, and it looks like Jesse Palmer is set to host—news he casually dropped during The Bachelor’s live “After the Final Rose” special.

So, how does former Bachelorette cohost Kaitlyn Bristowe feel about Jesse stepping into the role instead of her and Tayshia Adams? Speaking on the Off the Vine podcast, Kaitlyn explained, “I think Jesse’s amazing. He’ll be a great host, and I hope he helps Gabby and Rachel in any way that he can.” But she also added that she wants to “support Gabby and Rachel and be there for them so bad” and said, “I think it makes sense to have a woman being there for them.”

Kaitlyn also noted that it’s “been a wild year” for her, what with filming multiple Bachelorette seasons, a live podcast tour, and the Dancing With the Stars tour, and she said, “I also do want to prioritize being at home with Jason...and start planning my wedding and catch up on my businesses. So, #BlessingInDisguise, I guess. There’s a lot of exciting things coming up in the next few months, and it all just feels very overwhelming. But I guess it’s that saying like, you can have it all, but you can’t have it all at once. I will be sad though. I want to be there to support them, but that’s the update.”

Meanwhile, a source tells Us Weekly that Kaitlyn and Tayshia were “part of the conversation” about who would host The Bachelorette, meaning they weren’t caught off guard when Jesse announced he’d be hosting.

“Kaitlyn and Tayshia had a little bit of a heads-up,” a source said, adding that they “did not learn about them not returning as cohosts on the live finale.” And apparently the decision “wasn’t a surprise for them” since they “needed to know in advance for contractual reasons.”

We’d have loved to see Kaitlyn and Tayshia come back as hosts, so here’s to hoping they can be involved in a future season.

^ me begging ABC to have Tayshia and Kaitlyn host again.
