Kaia Gerber Wore Green Gemstones as Eye Makeup
In real life, Kaia Gerber might frequently rock a minimal makeup look, but her jaw-dropping appearance at the Valentino fashion show on Sunday was anything but, and she took the glitter makeup trend to a whole new level by wearing actual gems on her eyelids.
The model was the epitome of glitz when she came down the runway with rhinestones all over her eyes, care of legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath. Her lids were painted with metallic green glitter, and the emerald stones stretched into a unique set of wings that wrapped around her eyebrows. She kept the rest of the look minimal, with dewy skin, rosy blush, and some lip balm.
"Beautiful @maisonvalentino today. thank you to the visionary who is @pppiccioli ❤️ @patmcgrathreal for this incredible eye moment, and the whole family," she wrote on Instagram alongside shots of her look from the show. She then went on to thank some other members of her glam squad. Pat posted a closeup shot of Kaia's makeup, writing, "EXTRAVAGANT BEAUTY ✨✨✨ The DIVINE @kaiagerber," then went on to reveal that the gems on her face were actually hand-applied Swarovski crystals.
Other models in the show came down the runway in similar sparkle styles, including rhinestone red lips and purple-painted eyes, shots of which were shared to McGrath's Instagram story.
Kaia's glittery lids wasn't her only major makeup moment of the last 24 hours. On Monday morning, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté announced via Instagram that the model would be their newest — and youngest ever — global makeup ambassador. Beauty inspo, indeed.
