Kacey Musgraves Wore This Iconic $34 Charlotte Tilbury Product to the Grammys

Six-time Grammy winner and country music darling Kacey Musgraves looked ethereal in her stunning bubblegum pink Valentino jumpsuit with a matching feather cape on the 2023 Grammys red carpet. But as Best Products' beauty editor, it was her stunning makeup and impeccably coiffed hair that really captivated me.

To find out how we could capture the glamorous look ourselves, we spoke to Kacey's hairstylist, Giovanni Delgado. The pair met in Nashville many years ago through a mutual friend, and they instantly vibed. “I love collaborating with her so much. She always has incredible ideas, and we just riff off one another. There is definitely a trust there that I really love, and it makes for creativity to really come very organically,” he says of their chemistry.

What exactly inspired the iconic look? Delgado tells us, “Kacey’s Valentino jumpsuit had such a gorgeous softness to it, so I was inspired to do something clean, modern, and very feminine — which called for some modern restraint from the hair. I looked at sculptures, namely abstract ones of women with feminine, soft shapes, and we ultimately decided to elegantly sculpt the hair up to complement the drama of the look.”

1. Prep your hair: Delgado spritzed UNITE's 7SECONDS Detangler from the mid-shaft to the ends of the hair, brushed through, then apply 7SECONDS Blowout Crème from roots to ends. "Both of these products work beautifully to bring gorgeous shine and manageability to the hair," he says.

Makeup artist Moani Lee also took a page from Musgraves' pink Valentino number and wanted to give her client an angelic all-over luminous finish. "We wanted her skin to glow from within and her eyes to have a baby-soft pink whisper of color. We gave her a little edge with a soft smoke and dramatic, fluffy lashes. We finished off with a powdery buffed-out matte nude pink lip,” she says.

Kacey Musgraves’ Makeup Tutorial

Lee shared the skin and makeup products she relied on to get Musgraves ready for the music industry's biggest award show.

1. Prep the skin: Before applying Beautiful Skin Foundation in 4N, Lee prepped Musgraves skin with Charlotte’s Magic Cream and Magic Serum Crystal Elixir.

2. Set it and forget it: Lee set her makeup in place with a layer of the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in 2, which I promise has a blurring effect on the skin.

3. Sculpt your features: Next, she created a soft contour to Musgraves' complexion by applying Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Bronzer in 2 along the cheekbones and through the temples.

5. Lee blended the shade Dream along the lash line and through the crease and blended with the lighter tones in the eyeshadow palette.
