Kacey Musgraves sparked dating speculation on Monday after posting a cozy-cute selfie of her and Dr. Gerald Onuoha on Insta, and a source confirms they're officially dating! "They met in Nashville and Kacey is into him," said source tells Entertainment Tonight. "She likes that he is a doctor and not very involved in the entertainment industry, but that he also gets it."
According to LinkedIn, Dr. Onuoha practices internal medicine at HCA Healthcare in Nashville. It's unclear how he and Kacey met, but it is clear they're very cute:
As a reminder, Kacey and her ex-husband, Ruston Kelly, divorced last year—but they appear to have ended their relationship on good terms. Ruston even gave Kacey a shoutout on her birthday, writing on Instagram "Anyone who knows your heart, your kindness, your humor and compassion…are made better people by it. I got your back. Happy birthday."
Kacey told Rolling Stone that the marriage “just simply didn’t work out" and that "It’s nothing more than that. It’s two people who love each other so much, but for so many reasons, it just didn’t work. I mean, seasons change. Our season changed.” She added, “Part of me questions marriage as a whole, in general. I mean, I was open to it when it came into my life. I embraced it. I just have to tell myself I was brave to follow through on those feelings."
At the time, Kacey also explained “I think I live best by myself. I think it’s OK to realize that.”
FYI, Kacey and Dr. Onuoha haven't confirmed their relationship, but they were spotted hugging in Los Angeles over the weekend and seem very much together. So happy for them!
