Kaavia James Proves Girls Can Do Anything Boys Can Do (While in Princess Dresses!) in Adorable Daddy-Daughter Video

Kaavia James is giving her dad Dwyane Wade a run for his money. He may be a former NBA legend, but she is a 5-year-old in a princess dress — and I’ll give you one guess as to who has more skills.
“I think it’s safe to say we may have two hall of famers in one household 😏,” a new video posted to Kaav’s Instagram (run by her parents Wade and Gabrielle Union) was captioned. Kaavia and her dad go head-to-head in a challenge of agility and skill. They both must run across the living room and do a forward flip on the couch without breaking anything.

Tumbling
First, Wade is up. Dressed in a black Nike tracksuit and white socks, he takes a step, jumps, and flips over on the chaise lounge end of the couch. He whoops in excitement, and then rolls back to get off the couch.
Next, the camera points to Kaavia, also known as Shady Baby. She steps up to the starting line looking absolutely beautiful in a floor-length, champagne-colored ballgown that looks like something out of a princess movie. “Representing ‘Bridgerton’ in these Olympics,” Union quips in the video. Kaavia gracefully puts her arms up, runs, and flips over the couch. Not only was her flip just as fabulous as her dad’s, but also, she did it in a gown, not even letting the big tulle undercoat mess her up as she tumbled.
She tumbles backward and stands up, crossing her arms over her chest and looking positively regal.
Later, Kaavia walks her mom through her tumbling strategy, giving her dad shade the whole time. She explains how she did it “better than Daddy did” right before falling over on her butt.
“See? And that’s what happens when you talk smack,” Union joked.
At the end of the super cute clip, Kaavia sweeps up the floor, singing about how she’s “a queen.” Girl, yes you are!
Girls Rule, Boys Drool
“Not her schooling y’all in her ball gown … yess queen Kaav😂😂,” one person commented.
“A lady must always make sure the dress can adhere to her movements before popping the tags, lol,” one person commented, referencing the fact that the pricetag from Kaavia’s dress was still attached. It’s just good advice!
Someone else said, “It’s the how to tumble better Ted Talk for me while wearing Bridgerton’s finest formal wear. 😂😂😂😂”
“Both are impressive 👏🏾 but Kaav in the full formal wear vs Dad in leisure attire. Bravo!!!” another said.
It just goes to show that girls can do anything boys can do, but better!
Princess Era
Kaavia seems to love dressing up. On her 5th birthday in November, she wore five different Disney princess dresses and looked beautiful in all of them!
The Bring It On alum wrote a sweet caption about her princess: “November 7, 2018 our dream became a reality and our princess @kaaviajames was born I cannot believe she’s already 5?!?! She is pure light and love and brings so much joy to everyone she encounters.”
She continued, “She loves to sing, dance, play Barbie’s and reaaaalllllly loves hanging with her best friends!! Sometimes she’s like a roast comedian and sometimes we find her praying quietly (Kaav LOVES the Lord 🙏🏾) She is truly 1 of 1 and the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Shady Baby is the cutest little princess, and she’s also a daddy’s girl. When she’s not beating him in the living room Olympics, they can always be found having a dance party or wearing matching clothes. Kaavia shared a heartwarming video of the two of them for her dad’s birthday earlier this month, captioning it, “Looking up to someone is easy when it’s you! Happy Birthday Daddy!!! 🎈🎂🎉🥳 @dwyanewade.”
