K9 Trainer Shows Cool Video of Dog Finding Her Daughter in the Forest

We've all seen the videos of dog moms and dads hiding to see if their dogs can find them, but this one is a little different. This trainer at @Top Paw K9 Academy shared a video on Tuesday, August 5th of her partner and young daughter hiding in a Seattle Forest (they're from Colorado) to see if her dog could track them, and it's really cool to watch!

It appears that the daughter, who's in a stroller, was walked to a location far from where the trainer and dog were. The trainer tells the dog to go find her scent and the dog starts tracking. The trainer explains what the dog is doing the whole time, and - bingo! - the dog finds the toddler.

I loved this video because the trainer explained exactly what the dog was doing and how he was going to find the toddler. The dog wasn't playing hide and seek, he was working. He was following the little girl's scent and found her no problem! It was cool to watch it happen with the narration.

People were really impressed with the dog's ability to find the toddler. @OcleGirl joked, "Meanwhile, my fur baby can’t find me behind the bedroom door. LOL! Clearly, we have work to do." @Raccoonza shared, "I have no idea if our corso/ heeler uses her nose but if we tell her "Find mom/dad" she shoots off and finds us. She taught herself how!"

She even shared some tips on how to teach your dog to track throughout the comments. All dogs can do it, but certain breeds are better at tracking than others, and her German Shepard is one of them.
