It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 14 years since that Super Bowl incident. Aka, when Justin Timberlake ripped part of Janet Jackson’s costume off at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And since this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performer is — you guessed it — Justin Timberlake, there’s been a resurgence of talk about the infamous moment.

It’s still unclear what happened that fateful day. Originally, Timberlake said they both planned it. Later, after both issued public apologies, Timberlake said he was only meant to reveal her red laced bra, while Jackson admitted to changing things up after the final rehearsal without consulting the network.

These days, Timberlake has a good attitude about what happened — and he wants everyone to know that he made amends with Jackson and they’re on good terms. “I don’t think it’s my job to do that [discuss what he and Jackson talked about after the incident] because you value the relationships that you do have with people,” he said to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio.

“I stumbled through it,” Timberlake said in regards to the aftermath of the performance. “To be quite honest, I had my wires crossed. It’s just something that you have to look back on and go like, ‘Okay, you can’t change what’s happened, but you can move forward and learn from it.'”
