Today in Justin Timberlake dusting off years-old drama with Britney Spears for literally no apparent reason, a source tells Us Weekly that he doesn't care if he's coming across as "cocky." Direct quote: “If Justin comes across as cocky, he couldn’t care less. His conscience is clear.”

Justin and Britney's recent drama started after he released a single called "Selfish" and Britney's fans rallied to get her 2011 song of the same name to dominate the charts. Britney ended up writing an extremely nice post shouting out her ex and apologizing for some of what was written in her memoir— saying in part "I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish.'"

Justin's response? To start a performance of "Cry Me a River" with “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f*cking nobody.” Though he didn't name Britney directly, an Us Weekly insider said he was “100 percent” referring to her and that she was “pretty stung.” Especially since she was initially “trying to be the bigger person.”

Britney (whose Instagram account is currently private) then reportedly shared a photo of a basketball hoop alongside the caption "Someone told me someone was talking s**t about me on the streets!!! Do you want me to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time??? I'm not sorry!!!!"

Per one of Us Weekly's sources, Britney is "disgusted by his attitude" and "feels embarrassed to have had her goodwill and kind words thrown back in her face. Justin’s run out of credit or sympathy with her."

Welp. This has been an update.
