Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods Tour Trades Suits and Ties for Custom Designer Everything

Last month, Justin Timberlake entered the merch game with a collection of T-shirts and hoodies by Heron Preston, jackets by Levis, sunglasses by Warby Parker, and even a pair of collaborative Air Jordan sneakers. And just days before that, he performed on one of the world's biggest stages—the Super Bowl halftime show—in all custom Stella McCartney (and the aforementioned Jordans). So when it came time to kick off his global Man of the Woods Tour, he tapped two of those aforementioned brands to get him dressed: Levi's and McCartney.

But first, a quick history lesson: In 2007, Timberlake toured his then-new album FutureSex/LoveSounds with a new, grown-up look that consisted of YSL three-piece suits and white tennis sneakers. (A radical idea at the time that went on to become massively popular to this day.) In 2013 and '14 it was more of the same—more suits and ties, that is.

In 2018, however, Timberlake is embracing a more casual look for his Man of the Woods Tour, with a wardrobe full of pieces regular, stylish guys are actually wearing today. There are screen-printed graphic T-shirts, washed denim jackets, camo patterns and, of course, rarified sneakers.

As one of world's most famous pop stars, Timberlake's country-tinged wares aren't actually the same things you or I can buy. So far on stage he's been spotted wearing a Levi's Trucker jacket with a Man of the Woods-inspired stitched pattern on the back. (Seen above.) The jacket also utilizes custom details like highlighter orange and yellow (wildly popular choices in 2018) in the lining and under the collar.

British designer Stella McCartney continues her working relationship with Timberlake with a full wardrobe that allows the singer to mix and match pieces as he pleases. In the custom set are a trench coat and combat trousers teamed with wildlife prints as well as chevron tracksuits. But standout from Stella's custom pieces is definitely the camo bomber jacket, which actually is what the brand calls a camo "splatter" that's printed on top of a Prince of Wales check pattern. And if some of the pieces look familiar, it's because they're tweaked versions of pieces from McCartney's forthcoming Fall-Winter 2018 collection, which hit the runway back in January.

“Justin has such innate style, and he embodies our menswear collection in many ways. Collaborating with him on his world tour wardrobe is an incredible opportunity…I’m so thrilled and proud that he chose Stella McCartney Menswear,” the designer says. Considering the tour sold out in less than a day, there's no doubt her clothing will get seen by a ton of people across the world as the 'Man of the Woods' travels to some of the world's biggest cities.
