From Men's Health

• Justin Bieber issued a challenge to fight Tom Cruise out of nowhere on Twitter on Sunday night.
• Bieber and Cruise have never been associated together before.
• Could the fight happen? The singer tagged UFC head honcho Dana White, but he's yet to respond.

As if it didn't already feel like headlines were being generated in some sort of Mad Lib format, Sunday night made that feel realer than ever, when Justin Bieber took to Twitter to challenge Tom Cruise to a fight, quite literally out of nowhere.

You read that correctly: In a moment that will forever mark the history books, at 8:34 on Sunday night, the Canadian pop star took to Twitter to challenge the Top Gun, Mission: Impossible, and Minority Report star to what sounds like a UFC/MMA style fight. "I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down," he tweeted. "Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?"

The mystery of this situation, really, is where this comes from. Was Justin watching Jerry Maguire and feeling some type of way about agents in the industry? Did he see a promo for last year's Mission: Impossible-Fallout, and just think "that guy? I can take that guy," and decide to share those thoughts with the world? (For what it's worth, despite the 31-year age gap tipped toward Cruise's end, we strongly believe that Bieber could not take that guy, considering Cruise's grueling workout regimen, and how he famously performs all of his own stunts. Gambling site OddsShark agrees with us. )

MMA star Conor McGregor hopped into the fray to announce that he would be willing to host the fight, should Cruise decide to respond. He also took the opportunity to challenge Mark Wahlberg to a fight ("on the very same card"), in what is not at all a desperate plea for attention.

While Dana White (the president of the UFC) hasn't yet responded to being tagged in Bieber's tweet, former boxing champ Oscar De La Hoya also seems interested in hosting.

Cole Sprouse, a Bieber contemporary as a mid-2000s teen star, noted that the pop star may even have been so excited about issuing his scuffle challenge to the movie star that he overlooked a minor typo:

It's important to note that this bizarre tweet does come not too long after Bieber's posted a few messages to social media detailing that he's been struggling with anxiety, among other things. He seems to have been doing better of late, releasing new music with Ed Sheeran among other things, but you never know. We hope this is just some goofing around and not anything more serious.

We're eager to see what comes of this-if by some miracle this fight actually happens in some capacity (let's set the initial odds at +4000)-and will keep you updated as it develops.
