Justin Bieber and Travis Scott's 'Second Emotion' Lyrics Are a Plea to Hailey Baldwin and Kylie Jenner
Justin Bieber's Changes is an album full of love songs about his wife Hailey Baldwin, but Travis Scott got in on the romantic tribute action too on the track "Second Emotion." The rapper seemed to give his own ex-girlfriend (who he is reportedly on the cusp of reconciling with) Kylie Jenner a lyrical shoutout.
"Second Emotion" is a lyrical request from the Biebs and Scott to have their partners reciprocate their feelings and desire for commitment. Bieber starts the song singing about his hope that Baldwin will want to take a chance with him and confide in him the way he does her ("You really got me open (Do you?) / Do you second that emotion? (Do you?)").
In Scott's verses, he alludes to Jenner's billionaire status ("Oh, you sent the jet out for me? / You tryna ball harder than me?") and giant houses ("Movin' like the blitz (Blitz), crib like the Ritz (Like the Ritz) / So you know there's room (Skrrt)").
The song comes amid reports that Scott and Jenner are spending more time together.
E! was told by a source earlier this month that while they live in separate houses, Scott comes over "all the time" and when he isn't there, the two are "always FaceTiming and texting."
"They are spending more and more time together and really enjoying it," that source continued. "It seems like the natural next step will be to get back together."
Baldwin, of course, took a chance on Bieber in June 2018, got engaged to him in July, and married to him in September 2018. She told ELLE in its March 2020 issue that the Bieber she encountered then was different than the one she first dated years before. "He had grown up so much," she said. "I was actually shocked. I think I had grown up a lot, too. He was somebody I’d always cared about so deeply and loved very deeply. Obviously, it took work and getting past things between the two of us, but it was all very worth it. He’s an incredible, amazing man and such a good partner to go through life with. There is no one else I would have ever wanted to spend my life with except him. So, I’m lucky.”
