Are Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez ~officially~ back together? Apparently, he’s letting her call the shots
It looks like one of our favorite on-again-off-again couples might be very much back on, now that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been spotted out on the town together several times. In case you missed it, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd broke up in October, citing distance as the primary reason for the split. While The Weeknd was busy touring, Gomez was preparing for her next album and recovering from a kidney transplant. Needless to say, it’s been a busy year for both singers.
Around the time of the breakup, Gomez and Bieber were seen getting breakfast together. While at first we thought this was just platonic, it appears they may have indeed rekindled the romance. On Thursday, Us Weekly reported that a source confirmed the two are officially back together. “Selena and Justin are back together. Selena always had feelings for Justin,” the source allegedly said. They split in 2014 after a somewhat tumultuous three-year relationship.
On Friday, the two enjoyed a private dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse in Los Angeles. Bieber rented it out after the restaurant closed for maximum privacy. Talk about wooing a girl! Onlookers also spotted the duo riding bikes together through the city. Gomez even wore Bieber’s jersey to cheer him on during his hockey game. Sounds like things are definitely heating up.
But are Justin and Selena ~officially~ back together?
Neither of the singers have officially confirmed the rumors themselves. Though allegedly, he’s letting her call all the shots. A source told People that Bieber is waiting for Gomez to make the call.
Apparently, he has a few hurdles to clear first.
“He is waiting for Selena to tell him that they are officially back together. He doesn’t feel any rush, because no doubt they are already emotionally back together,” the source told People. “Justin still needs to win her family over and he realizes it will take some time. But he very much feels he is a different person.”
We’ll be keeping a close eye on Jelena, but it looks like the lovebirds are very much back together.
