Still, some people are trying to figure out their weird timeline together, especially since they were secretly dating shortly before Justin started dating Hailey Baldwin.

So when did Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez break up? And how many times were they originally together before they called it quits for the last time? Here's everything you need to know about Selena and Justin's big breakup...

When did Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber officially break up for good?

The couple's last breakup happened in May 2018, after the couple took a small break in their relationship to figure out what they wanted. The break initially started in March 2018 after a fight caused them to split up.

According to E! News, "they were having a lot of little disagreements recently and one fight in particular blew up and caused them to decide to 'break up,' however, they've been in contact the entire time and their feelings for each other have not changed."

They were spotted attending the same church while they were on the break, but they both arrived and left separately. Finally, in May 2018, Selena decided to walk away from the relationship.

"Selena started seeing the bigger picture when it came to their relationship, like what was more important: her general happiness and her family and friends approval, or her being together with Justin, where no one really supported their relationship," a source t0ld Us Weekly.

How long were they together when they last broke up?

The couple had been together for a while during their reconciliation and new relationship. They were initially seen together in Los Angeles in October 2017, right after Selena and The Weeknd broke up. Afterwards, they became more public with their new relationship with them attending church together and Selena rocking his hockey jersey while out and about.

Justin even joined her big girls trip to Mexico for New Years and they also went on a date for Valentine's Day. Selena was also Justin's date for his dad's wedding in February, but shortly after, things started to not work out for the couple and they took some time apart.

How many times were the couple actually together?

According to our timeline, it seems like the couple officially got together three times before they officially called it quits for the last time. The couple first made things official around September 2010, when romance rumors about them started to spark. Then, in February 2011, they walked down the red carpet of the Vanity Fair Oscar party, seemingly confirming their relationship. They later broke up in November 2012 due to their crazy schedules.

They reunited multiple times over the years, but didn't officially get back together until June 2014, when Justin posts a photo of him and Selena with the caption, "our love is unconditional." They confirmed their reconciliation in September 2014, but later broke up in October 2014 after Justin was spotted with Kendall Jenner in Paris and Selena posted tweets suggesting that they called it quits.

The couple continued to see each other over the years every so often, sometimes sparking rumors that they were planning to get back together. They don't make it official for the last time until October 2017, when they get together for the last time.

How did they originally meet?

It seems like Justin's manager was the one behind their first meeting. "His manager called my mom, who's my manager," Selena said on The Late Show with David Letterman. They met sometime in 2009 and it seems like they couldn't let each other go after that.
