Justin Bieber Responds to Instagram User Who Criticized His Romantic Tributes to Hailey Bieber

You don’t have to scroll very far through Justin Bieber’s Instagram to know just how much he loves his wife, Hailey Bieber. The singer-songwriter has been known to post lengthy tributes on the ‘gram to the model, sometimes reflecting on the growth of their relationship, or revealing cutesy pet names for his significant other. But when one Instagram user suggested that the Biebs tone down the lovey-dovey honorary pics, the singer had pretty some strong words in response.

On Friday, September 6, Justin shared a picture of Hailey sans makeup that had originally been posted to his Instagram stories. “No makeup, like what??” he added with a flurry of emojis for emphasis.

Unfortunately, Justin’s post was met with an array of negative comments from his followers. Some people shamed Hailey, accusing the model of getting plastic surgery, while others took issue with the fact that Justin wrote “no makeup” while using an Instagram filter. However, one particular comment seemed to catch Justin’s eye.

“You don't need to do this,” an Instagram user wrote in the comments. “If you really love each other, just live and enjoy it without trying to presume to appear or force someone else to see that 'YOU'RE IN LOVE.”

Justin was clearly not having it. “Honoring your wife publicly is actually such an amazing respectful thing to do,” he responded. “It's not only reassuring to her, it's also a way of giving people something to look forward to. I'm not forcing it down anyone's throat, YOU follow ME. Should I not make songs about loving my wife or being in love or is that shoving down my love for her down your throat too. This is my life. Unfollow me if you don't like what I post.”

The singer-songwriter wasn’t the only one who piped in; music exec Scooter Braun also replied to the Instagram user to defend Justin’s tributes to Hailey. “Or you could just unfollow him and allow him to post his love and appreciation for his wife whenever he wants,” he wrote. “If more of us took his example and showed that praise, maybe it would be the status quo and not the exception.”

Plenty of Justin’s fans had the same sentiment. “Why are you guys so mean?” one person wrote. “It’s nice to see when somebody appreciates their other half! It’s his account and he will post whatever he wants.” Another fan commented: “I don’t understand why he’s getting a lot of hate for posting a picture of his wife. If you don’t like what you see, you can simply unfollow.”

As for Hailey, it seems as though she enjoyed her husband’s tribute, commenting: “Making a girl blush over here.”

It should go without saying that however someone wants to address their relationship on social media remains entirely up to them. Justin and Hailey appear to be more than comfortable putting their love on display — and no one has the right to tell them otherwise. And as Biebs himself noted, the "unfollow" button is always right there .
